If you’re spending your days in a bra, comfort becomes non-negotiable, especially if you’re curvy. No one should endure the typical discomforts of an underwire bra – the poking wires, itchy seams, and straps that feel more like razors. But here’s the thing: comfort often gets sacrificed for support, and support for sexiness. It’s a trade-off that lands those bras at the bottom of your drawer, forgotten.
But there’s good news for all shapes and sizes. At Sugar Candy, we’re changing the game with wire-free bras that make no compromises. Specifically crafted for fuller busts, our styles guarantee support without sacrificing comfort or style. No more constantly thinking about your bra throughout the day – it’s time to embrace comfort and confidence without compromise.
Keep reading to find out how we tackle the big three – comfort, support and the perfect fit.
Comfort
The Sugar Candy bra takes comfort seriously, addressing it from multiple angles. Just as a cake tastes better with the finest ingredients, this bra is made with a superior blend of nylon microfiber and high-quality elastane from Nilit yarn, known for their expertise in crafting materials for space shuttle seats. Their knack for comfort, sustainability, and durability ensures this bra’s longevity – the strong yarn means it holds up well against wear and tear, promising a longer-lasting, sturdier garment.
Crafted seamlessly on a specialised machine, this bra is designed with strategic reinforcement and ribbed knitting on the underband edge, reducing fabric wastage during production. Its seamless construction not only contributes to its exceptional comfort but also minimizes environmental impact – a win for both comfort seekers and eco-conscious individuals.
Comfort isn’t compromised elsewhere: the shoulder straps, known in the industry as “short-stretch,” might sound counterintuitive, but their reduced elasticity provides greater comfort by effectively supporting the weight of the breasts without excessive stretching. They’re wide and sturdy for reliable anchoring.
Soft binding elastics with a brushed finish are strategically placed on the top cup edge and underarm to minimise skin irritation, while the hooks and eyes boast a clean, soft finish to prevent digging in, even on the tightest setting. The bra’s back is equipped with a wider hook and eye featuring a cantilever design, ensuring the entire bra functions flawlessly by providing the best anchoring system.
Support
The magic of this bra lies within its slings, carefully designed with a folded edge on the longest side to ensure no uncomfortable digging into your breasts. The more weight these slings bear, the harder they work, offering increased support. Inside these slings, a secret double layer of power mesh, akin to that found in the back band of high-impact sports bras, adds an extra layer of reinforcement.
For added support and durability, there’s an additional sturdy piece of elastic sewn into the underband, providing anchoring support. This plays a crucial role in creating a solid foundation for the bra’s overall structure, held in place by the hook and eye closure.
Support in a wired bra isn’t solely about the wires; it’s also about the channel around the bust and the structured frame around the cups that need support. We’ve incorporated all these elements but omitted the bothersome wires, creating what we call a wire-mimic system.
The double-layered moulded cups have been meticulously designed to retain their stretch and shape, ensuring consistent support, especially around the nipples. We understand the need for separation, which is why our design aims to prevent your breasts from sticking together. Through the combination of moulded cups, the support frame system, and the platform sling, they’re less likely to feel compressed against each other, keeping you feeling cool and comfortable throughout the day.
When all these elements come together, the result is happy, well-supported, and comfortable breasts.
The Perfect Fit
These bras aren’t just versatile; they’re multi-cup-sized, ready to adapt not only to your monthly or weekly fluctuations but also if you’re unsure about your precise size. They’re perfect for accommodating asymmetry—because let’s face it, most of us have one side slightly larger than the other, just like our feet.
With sizes ranging from XS, fitting a 28-30 band, to 4XL, fitting a 44 band, and available in a diverse range of styles and colours—from vibrant hues to subtle skin tones—these bras cover a wide spectrum of larger cup sizes. You’re not just likely to find a perfect fit in terms of size, but also a style and colour that suits your taste.
For those who are curvy or have a larger bust, the comfort and support offered by Sugar Candy bras are bound to leave you delighted. You’ll wonder why you didn’t discover them sooner!

Katie is the mother of two beautiful young girls and has been the Head Designer and Fit Technician for Cake Maternity and Sugar Candy for 12 years now. Her practice combines her bra expertise, passion for functionality and comfort, and her ecological stance on power and waste minimisation.
She set about being a bra designer after her fuller busted sister, who suffered from scoliosis, struggled to find a well-fitting bra that was both comfortable and pretty. She majored in lingerie at Fashion College and sought a 3-year internship at Triumph International to become a specialist bra designer. Since then, she has worked internationally designing for Marks and Spencer, Agent Provocateur, Berlei and Pleasure State.
Due to her firsthand experience becoming a mum, Katie realised that the changes your breasts undergo whilst pregnant, breastfeeding and beyond were not only size-related, but also weight, sensitivity and shape. That’s why she has made it her mission to empower fuller busted women as they navigate the world of lingerie, which heavily favoured smaller busts in the past. She believes that comfort should never be sacrificed in favour of hard wires and rigidity, and through inventive ergonomics, design research and development innovations, your breasts can be supported and healthy whether you’re a D or a J cup. And so the Sugar Candy brand was born.
